Ezekiel's Prophecy on the Population of Israel at its Re-birth

CH22-S00-P01

In Ezekiel 36:37-38, Ezekiel prophesized the population of the nation of Israel in the latter time when Jerusalem was re-populated:

CH22-S00-P02
37Thus says Yehowah God: "I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this for them: I will increase their men like a flock. 38Like a flock offered as holy sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem on its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with flocks of men. Then they shall know that I am Yehowah."
CH22-S00-P03

Here, the English word "flock" is translated from the original Hebrew word צֹאן (tson), which means "small cattle," "sheep and goats," and "flock," The English word "cattle" means "cows," "oxen," "bulls," "stock," and "livestock." What Ezekiel prophesized was that the total number of the sacrificed animals in the appointed Feasts of God at Jerusalem is equal to the total number of the Israelites when Yehowah brought them back to the holy land.

CH22-S00-P04

The number of the holy sacrifices in the appointed Feasts of God in Jerusalem is clearly prescribed in Numbers 28:16-31 and 29:1-40. There are three appointed Feasts in Jerusalem: Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Weeks, and Feast of Tabernacles. Deuteronomy 16:16 says: "Three times a year all your males shall appear before Yehowah your God in the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles; and they shall not appear before Yehowah empty-handed." This verse tells us that the men of the Israelites shall go to Jerusalem during the three appointed holy Feasts and make animal sacrifices to Yehowah in the holy temple.

CH22-S00-P05

During the Feast of Unleavened Bread, 14 young bulls, 7 rams, 49 lambs, and 7 goats were to be offered. The total number of animals sacrificed is 77. During the Feast of Weeks, 2 young bulls, 1 ram, 7 lambs, and 1 goat were to be offered. The total number of animals sacrificed is 11. During the Feast of Tabernacles, 70 young bulls, 14 rams, 98 lambs, and 7 goats were to be offered. The total number of the animals sacrificed is 189. The total number of the animal sacrifices each year for the three Feasts is equal to 77+11+189 = 277.

According to the Biblical chronology in Chapter 10, Solomon began to build the holy temple on the second day of the second month of 977 BC. The temple's work was finished in 969 BC and Solomon dedicated the temple in the 7th month of 969 BC. The first Feast of Tabernacles took place in the 7th month of 969 BC. From the 7th month of 969 BC to the 14th day of the 7th month of 1947, there were 2,915 years. The total number of flocks that were supposed to be offered is 2,915×277 = 807,455. The declaration of the re-establishment of the nation of Israel took place at the end of 14 May 1948, which was exactly on the Feast of Weeks according to the correct Hebrew lunisolar calendar. From the 15th day of the 7th month of 1947 to the end of 14 May 1948, there were three complete Feasts, and an additional 277 sacrifices were supposed to be offered. Hence the total number of the sacrifices, which were supposed to be offered at the temple of Jerusalem just before the re-birth of the nation of Israel is 807,455 + 277 = 807,732.

It is remarkable that the number prophesized by Ezekiel exactly matches the population of the nation of Israel on 15 May 1948, which was 806,000 according to the statistics published in http://www.cbs.gov.il/statistical/statistical60_eng.pdf. Israeli population estimated from the statistics is only 0.21% lower than that prophesized by Ezekiel about 2,500 years ago. This consistency proves that Ezekiel is a true prophet of God. We should thus believe his prophecies about the war near the time of the Messianic Kingdom (Ezekiel 38-39) and about the rebuilding of the third temple during the Messianic Kingdom (Ezekiel 40-48).
